If You Thought People Couldn’t Get Any Dumber, I Give You – Freeway Skateboarding

So, I don’t know if y’all have noticed, but California’s NUTS. (Apologies to any of our readers who happen to live there. I’m sorry that you have to be associated with this idiocy.) I mean, people back east make jokes about Florida being crazy – while we out west make fun of California. Maybe it’s something on the beach that makes them lose their minds, I can’t figure it out.

And with that in mind, allow me to present – California Freeway Skateboarding.

According to this, the California Highway Patrol has started telling people not to skateboard on the freeway. Like those ridiculous warning labels that tell you not to use your genitals to operate a chainsaw, clearly there is a need to issue such a warning. Because people are CLEARLY that dumb –

LOS ANGELES — The California Highway Patrol is closely watching social media to identify people shown skateboarding on busy freeways across southern California.

The new #freewaychallenge “trend” shows skaters riding along cars in busy rush hour traffic. Pro-skater Nakel Smith is shown in one of the videos riding on Highway 110.

If identified, skaters participating in the “challenge” could face citations.

“You don’t know what the other car is going to do… or if a motorcycle is passing. They could strike you and kill you,” Officer Edgar Figueroa told KTLA.

Nakel Smith declined KTLA’s request for an interview, however his manager told KNBC Nakel is not encouraging anyone to participate in the “challenge.”

I love how Officer Figueroa basically had to explain – “See, there are these things on the freeway called CARS. And they go really, really, really fast. A lot faster than a skateboard can go. And if you dart out in front of one of those cars on your skateboard and you get hit, you are going to have a REALLY bad day.”

Of course this stupidity got started because of a celebrity on social media. Good grief – they couldn’t just stick with eating  spoonfuls of cinnamon or the Kylie Jenner lip thing? Or better yet, just tweet out the hashtag #ImAMoronWithADeathWish and then all doubt will be cleared.

We can laugh about these idiots all we want, but remember that these idiots have a vote. Just thought I’d throw that out there. In case you were having a good day or something.
