Attention Townspeople: Prince Wrote A Love Song About Donald Trump. I Am Not Making This Up

I couldn’t make this up if I tried.

According to this, music legend Prince wrote a song about Republican frontrunner Donald Trump waaaaaay back in the ’90s. It’s actually called “Donald Trump (Black Version)” and was performed by the R&B group, The Time.

It goes something like this:

Honey baby, you truly know it. You truly know it.
You look good. Tryin’ your best to show it.
If I were you, I would. True love and affection.
These are nice, so nice but when a money man walks in the room, girl, you look more than twice.
You look once, you look twice. Can I rap to you sugar tonight?

Donald Trump (black version), maybe that’s what you need.

A 1990’s love affair, the real romance.

Biographer Matt Thorne wrote in his 2012 book Prince: The Man and His Music that Prince wrote the song for the Time’s unreleased album Corporate World, but it was instead added to their 1990 album Pandemonium.

 

“Prince is responsible for a third of the record including another Corporate World standout — ‘Donald Trump (Black Version)’, which continues the theme of a black rewrite of Wall Street,” wrote Thorne.

I told you this wasn’t a joke.

I wonder if Trump will make it his official campaign song. It could totally work.

“Donald Trump (black version), maybe that’s what you need …Come on, come on take a chance…A man that fulfills your every wish, your every dream …I can fill your every dream, baby.”

Maybe that’s what you need, America. He can fulfill your every wish, that I can tell you. Take a chance. You won’t regret it. It’ll be fantastic. Hugely fantastic.
