Former Head Of Racial Equality Commission In Britain Admits That Muslims ‘See The World Differently’

First of all – Britain actually has a government organization called “Racial Equality Commission”? (Actually, the official title is “Equality and Human Rights Commission.” Doesn’t change the fact that it’s still stupid. Though what should I expect from a country so beholden to big government that they let their leaders dictate when and where they can see a doctor?)

According to this, the former chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission (geez, that’s a mouthful – can’t I just call him the Diversity Police?) in the UK, Trevor Phillips commented that Muslims “see the world differently” than Westerners do, and that is why they will never integrate into Western society. He’s actually using that as a way to excuse the behavior of Muslims who sexually assault women, kill gays, and demand Sharia Law in Europe – they can’t be expected to change their culture or their actions, so why should we put any of that undue pressure on them? It’s a microaggression – you racist!

Trevor Phillips, who was the chairman of the Equality and Human rights Commission between 2003 and 2012, told the Policy Exchange think tank “it was disrespectful to suppose that Muslim communities would change,” reported The Times.

 

Mr Phillips said: “Continuously pretending that a group is somehow eventually going to become like the rest of us is perhaps the deepest form of disrespect.”
He went on to claim that we should accept that Muslims “see the world differently from the rest of us.”

Mr Phillips said part of the integration process was for “the rest of us to grasp that people aren’t going to change their views simply because we are constantly telling them that basically they should be like us.”

The article mentions that Phillips’s comments were in response to a move by British PM David Cameron to require Muslim migrants to learn English, as a way to avoid them becoming radicalized in the predominantly Muslim neighborhoods that have cropped up in Britain and other European countries. So, it sounds like Phillips is trying to be sympathetic toward Muslim people.

The sad thing is that Phillips is exactly right – but probably not in the way that he wants to be. Muslim culture is NOT compatible with Western civilization. The way Islamic cultures treat women is abhorrent, for a start. As is the way they treat gay people. Their insistence that everyone convert to Islam or die would never fly in a society that actually values freedom of religion. Anyone promoting Sharia Law is automatically at odds with the foundations of individual liberty. And if they want to come to Europe and even America – it is not unreasonable to ask that they integrate into our society(or, to paraphrase Daisy, – if you want to come to our melting pot of a country, you better be prepared to freaking MELT). They left their home countries for a better life (or so they keep telling us). That “better life” doesn’t involve holding on to your backwards traditions that made their former homes such an awful hellhole to begin with.

At least the British Diversity Police was good for something. Even if he’s not going to do anything substantial about it.
