Daisy's post about the Kylie Jenner challenge, where idiotic teens across the country are trying to enlarge their pouts by putting their lips into bottles and creating enough suction to make their lips practically burst open, irritated a bunch of people. We knew this would happen, because people are predictable. They're all, "Why do you post about those trashy people like Kylie Jenner? Stick to politics and serious stuff!" Meanwhile, they click on posts about Kylie Jenner, and ignore posts about politics and serious stuff.
It's like clockwork. The posts people claim to hate are always the ones which bring the most traffic. And it's because of all of the reasons Daisy talked about in her post. It's why we continue to talk about pop culture on our site, and always will. Culture impacts politics. The two things go hand in hand, regardless of how much people don't want them to.
ANYWAY. We were thrilled to get the following email as a result of the Kylie Jenner Challenge post.
Hey Chicks!I am a practicing pediatrician in Mississippi, and I am taking a quick break between patients to thank y'all for the post about the Kylie Jenner challenge. I just had a teenage patient come to the doctor because her lips were inexplicably purple and bruised. Thanks to y'all, I immediately asked her if she had done the Kylie Jennifer challenge. She, of course, was forced to admit that she had.HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!So y'all inadvertently helped me make a diagnosis today that I otherwise would have struggled with! Y'all didn't know that you were helping physicians practice medicine!Love y'all and loved listening to your book.
See? We helped a physician practice medicine, y'all. That's what posting about the Kylie Jenner Challenge did.
So just remember that next time you get all crabby about us posting pop culture information. We are helping doctors.
