‘Queer Eye’ Star Cancels Twitter After Backlash Over Sean Spicer Comments

Sean Spicer is going to be on the new season of “Dancing With the Stars.”  Predictably, the rabid left is livid about this casting.

Someone who isn’t livid about it?  “Queer Eye” star and fellow upcoming DWTS contestant Karamo Brown.

“I’m a big believer that if you can talk to someone and meet in the middle, you can learn about each other and help each other both grow,” Brown said.

Brown’s statement was extremely reasonable, but reason has no place in today’s political discourse.  The hate brigade promptly turned on Brown, but Brown stood his ground.

“First, I have no say who is on the cast and didn’t find out till this morning that he is on,” Brown tweeted.  “But I’ll tell you this … I’m excited to sit down [with] him and engage in respectful conversations.  Only way things get better is if we try to educate those who have different [point of view] than us.  But I understand how my comments could lead people to believe that I don’t understand the gravity of the situation.  The personal is political.  I’m reminded of it daily as a gay man of color.  I know that representation matters – that it can affect change.  I see you [and] I hear you.  I’m bringing my personal message of love, equity, [and] inclusion to the dance floor.  I want it to eclipse [and] triumph over divisiveness [and] hatred.”

Props to Brown for encouraging civil discourse and actually talking to those with whom you disagree.  That is absolutely what is needed to move forward as a nation.

Of course, that didn’t appease the haters.  Brown has now canceled his Twitter after the onslaught of leftist hate.

“After catching heat for his response to Sean Spicer’s casting on ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ Karamo Brown is taking a step back from social media,” reports [PEOPLE].  “As of Friday, the ‘Queer Eye’ star’s Twitter account has been deactivated.  His Instagram is still active, but the comments have been turned off.  PEOPLE is out to his rep for comment.”

This is fascism, pure and simple.  The left seeks to shut down not just those whose views don’t align with their own – but also those who are willing to listen to other views.

That is dangerous and terrifying.
