Forget the fact that the mere premise of Obamacare is completely bogus, but now we have blatant proof that folks will not only have a renewed sense of entitlement under socialized medicine, but they’ll also be milking the system like the good little freeloaders they are.
“A gaping loophole in state insurance rules that lets freeloaders pick up coverage to pay for expensive surgeries — and then dump it once they’re treated — has cost taxpayers as much as $37 million a year, according to a study that warns the same wrinkle in Obamacare could add a staggering $2 billion a year to the deficit-wracked federal budget.”
Basically, these jackwagons will play the system by picking up insurance, getting some work done – expensive work – and then dropping the insurance, just in time for Jane and John Q. Follow-the-Rules to pick up the tab.
The numbers speak loudly for themselves:
In 2009 alone, as many as 2,659 jumpers and dumpers cost state taxpayers and policyholders as much as $37.3 million, according to the report. And..similar provisions in the nation’s new health care plan could cost the government at least $1.9 billion a year starting in 2014 when Obamacare kicks in.
Good to know that the powers-that-be spent time to work out all the details to protect the people that work to pay the actual bills. I’m sure that Obamacare has been looked over with a fine-toothed comb, though. I mean, people read that legislation, right?
Ugh.
