Keith Ellison Is Boycotting “Cowardly” NFL

I didn’t watch ANY NFL football last season.

Honestly… I’m not a HUGE fan to begin with. I’d watch “big” games and the occasional Colts game. So it wasn’t a particularly difficult boycott on my part. It’s not like I was a die-hard. But when the situation DID arise- I removed myself from it.

I have no interest in supporting an organization that employs -and makes MILLIONAIRES – out of a bunch of entitled brats.

Will that change now that they’ve changed the rules? Probably not. They’ve made it clear how they feel about America. Forcing players to stand won’t change anything in my book. Their feelings are clear, and so are mine: I want nothing to do with any of it.

Anyway… the NFL wisened up to the fact that this little stunt is costing them LOTSA DOUGH… So after a year of hemming and hawing they decided to change the rules. Players MUST stand.

Nothing more patriotic than a bunch of millionaires being FORCED to stand for the National Anthem, am I right? Again… they’ve made their feelings clear, so I don’t care WHAT they do. I will never support them again.

Keith Ellison is boycotting now, too. Because it’s UNFAAAAIR.

Sundays will never be the same… or, perhaps, they’ll be just fine.

Cowardly? That’s arguable. They’re scared of losing more money.

Unfair?

Let’s think about that for a moment, shall we?

The NBA has had similar rules since the 90s. Is Ellison boycotting them, too?

Is it UNFAIR for an employer to ask you to refrain from political stunts on company time?

Those arguing that this is a violation of the First Amendment obviously have a very limited understanding of how the First Amendment works. There is nothing that protects EMPLOYEES’ right to do and say whatever they want COMPANY TIME.

Here it is, to REFRESH:

Amendment I. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

WOWOWOWOW is your mind blown? Where’s the part that says “Jackasses are allowed to say or do whatever they want without consequence?”

OH! THAT PART DOESN’T EXIST.

If a restaurant owner found out his waitress was telling all his customers that she hated America, he’d fire her, right? She’s bad for business. Maybe he’s a pushover and he wouldn’t fire her. He’d just make a “rule” that she can no longer tell customers how much she hates America.

Why is it then, that the NFL is expected to allow for political demonstrations during their pre-game? It’s DEMONSTRABLY bad for business. The end.

n the same day the league announced a $89 million commitment to social justice programs to combat inequality, team owners agreed to a policy that subjects teams to a fine if a player or any other team personnel do not stand for the anthem. Teams also have the option to fine personnel or players who violate the policy.

The NFL has been rocked with controversy since former player Colin Kaepernick first began kneeling in 2016 o protest racism and police brutality.

The left responded by saying the new policy is an affront to the First Amendment, never mind that players — see employees — are technically on the clock when they protest.

Anyone surprised the Democrat’s siding with NFL players disrespecting the national anthem over claims of police brutality and racism — statistics beg to differ — haven’t been paying attention in post-Obama America.

And while Ellison, deputy chair of the Democratic National Committee, had lots of support from his progressive fan club, a tweet by a social media user demonstrated what a pickle the NFL created for itself by not taking a firm stance from the jump.

YES. EXACTLY how I feel.

It’s my right to refrain from supporting the NFL.

It’s his right, too.

Looks like either way, they’re screwed.
