It’s rare, but Whoopi agrees with what we Chicks said on our show yesterday. And y’all – we talked about this Lamar Kendrick debacle for an HOUR yesterday…we took calls and got all sorts of input from our listeners, too.
People are all over the place, but we’re pretty firm in our stance. People need to quit using that freaking word. It’s horrible, unnecessary, and outdated, frankly. No one is taking any “power” back using the n-word. No one. You get power by claiming your own personal power and becoming an American success story, which is exactly what Kendrick Lamar has done. It’s what Jay-Z has done. It’s what Kanye West has done. It’s what Beyonce has done. It’s what Oprah has done. It’s what OBAMA has done. It’s what millions and millions of other black Americans have done. They’ve become incredible role models for the black community, yes?
That word is nothing but negative.
That girl who went up on the stage the other night? She loves Kendrick Lamar and his music, and what he did to her was disgusting. And dare I say – it was bullying of the highest form.
It was also calculated. And it does nothing for race relations and interpersonal relationships in this country but make us more divided. As if we weren’t already divided enough with all the emphasis ON race these days.
Shame on Kendrick Lamar.
But kudos to Whoopi here:
