Secret Service Dismantles Lie About The NRA Supposedly Banning Guns At Its Convention

Ill-informed Parkland activists have been busy spreading the love. And by that I mean, they’ve been busy figuring out ways to be as divisive as possible.

.@NRA won't allow members to carry guns during the Trump and Pence speeches. In other words: the event is a giant gun free zone — the very kind of zones @NRA wants to eliminate b/c they lie and say that they are targets for shooters.

I dont understand. The NRA has banned guns at their convention because Pence will be there. But guns don't kill people, people kill people. I know that because the NRA says so. They should be banning the people, and leaving cheering guns in the the seats of the auditorium.

You get the idea. These libs are thirsty to find a shred of hypocrisy.

But here’s the thing: This isn’t on the NRA. It’s simply abiding by Secret Service policy. In fact, Secret Service provided this explanation to the Daily Wire:

Title 18 United States Code Sections 3056 and 1752, provides the Secret Service authority to preclude firearms from entering sites visited by our protectees, including those located in open-carry states. Only authorized law enforcement personnel working in conjunction with the Secret Service for a particular event may carry a firearm inside of the protected site.

The Secret Service works closely with our local law enforcement partners in each state to ensure a safe environment for our protectees and the public. Individuals determined to be carrying firearms will not be allowed past a predetermined outer perimeter checkpoint, regardless of whether they possess a ticket to the event.

By the way libs– Secret Service guards are PACKING HEAT. So please shut up with the whole, “It’s a gun free zone.” There are absolutely guns in that zone.

The NRA also provided the Daily Wire with a statement:

When the Vice President or President is on site that venue is no longer under NRA jurisdiction, it is under the control of the United States Secret Service. …

After the President and Vice President have left the venue NRA rules apply and people will be permitted to carry in accordance with local laws. To be clear the USSS rules are in effect until the President and Vice President leave the venue. This only applies to the exact venue where they will speak and inside that security perimeter. Other NRAAM events taking place in other areas at the same time are not subject to the USSS policy.

Did you catch that, libs? Lemme repeat that for you. “After the President and Vice President have left the venue NRA rules apply and people will be permitted to carry in accordance with local laws.”

Actually you can be secure in betting that not only will this not be a gun-free zone but every member of the secret service will be heavily armed during the President and Vice President speeches. Not hypocrisy. It’s overriding policy on the part of the Secret service.
