London Mayor Sadiq Khan Blames Violent Stabbings On YouTube Videos

London’s Muslim Mayor Sadiq Khan is sick and tired of the violence plaguing his city. More specifically, the rise in violent stabbings. He’s had enough. He’s finally taking a stand against Islamic terrorism. Wait no– that’s not it. YouTube videos. He’s taking a stand against violent YouTube videos.

“Internet giants have policies in place around violent content, but they do not go far enough,” Khan stated. “Google, YouTube and other platforms have a responsibility to the millions of young people using their sites every day, and it is vital that they toughen up their guidelines, remove breaches immediately and work with partners to help ensure such horrific videos do not reappear. Lives could depend on it.”

I understand that social media platforms have a responsibility to take down seriously violent and inappropriate content, but at the end of the day, those videos aren’t causing these attacks. Say it with me, Khan. “Radical Islamic terrorism.” The ideology is the problem. Not a YouTube video. Barbarians adhering to that violent ideology were carrying out attacks long before YouTube even existed, so try again.
