

Why is this even happening? And I’m not asking a rhetorical question here – this is a LEGIT question. Why is the Mayor of New York encouraging people of his city to DRINK THE TAP WATER? What’s happening here?

This could be one of the weirdest things I’ve seen in a while, and that’s saying something, since we’re now living in Biden’s Dumpster-Fire America.
Now, if you are living in NYC, would you watch this and say to yourself, “Self, I’m going to immediately go to my faucet and start drinking the tap water, because a government official told me to.” If you said yes, then we’re probably not kindred spirits. I’m just being honest. It’s what I do. Because my initial reaction to this is “there is NO WAY I’m drinking that f***ing water, dude. Not a CHANCE.“

When people are turning against tap water, it either tastes bad or is unsafe. People also dislike drinking things that reek of chlorine.
The fact that he is making a big deal about this means that something else is off. Way off.
I admit being tempted to grin at this picture. The man is vegan, though I had not known that. He is in with the political group causing major problems for farmers, and for the worth of the dollar in place where you need it to import things, like food. They appear, to my shock, to be genuinely attacking and trying to stop farming world wide.

I think its because the mayor of NYC poisoned the tap water.
Well it is some of the safest tap water in the US, and is a major feat for such a large city. But with the vegan mayor touting it as his vegan lifestyle, I would think twice about it and probably reject out of caution. Big question would be have they added some new substance to the water that is not healthy/safe and are pushing it for some political reason?
Maybe he should solve the crime problem and stop the virtue signalling and stop pushing his lifestyle on the folks living in NYC.

It’s in the DNA of Boomers, too. As Reagan said, “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the Government, and I’m here to help.” Which leads us to believe that we shouldn’t believe anything the govt. says.
Remember, many of the Boomers, with an extra emphasis on the third that were hippies, might have distrusted the government, but many, particularly the hippies, were slavishly obedient to their chosen leaders, and this creature is one of them.
Yep. I got a quiet kick, when I was young, watching all those parents and younger teachers, who had spent their time hitherto glorifying distrust in authority. shocked and dismayed when students didn’t act like they thought students should. It hadn’t occurred to any of them that they now WERE authority.
My parents weren’t boomers, I was born quite late, so we didn’t have serious problems until the last couple of years: my father was quite deaf and, announcing the country was now are problem, stopped paying attention to the news. He couldn’t accept some of the corrupt changes that had come out; he’s always been highly cynical—people in his age group were often called the cynics generation– but this was too fast for someone who couldn’t hear.
