There is nothing more unfunny than someone who apologizes for a joke that didn’t need to be apologized for. And I’m thankful to report that Wendy’s has stood their ground after making the perfect jab at pop star Katy Perry when she returned from space.
Can we send her back

Harmless, funny, and on point. Watching Perry kiss the ground after her 11-minute space trip was cringy—but not quite as cringy as seeing her float around with a dead look in her eyes and a daisy.
The posts got a lot of laughs from followers and some criticism. One source who is “close to the situation” told People that Wendy’s should issue Perry an apology. “This wasn’t harmless banter, this was a billion-dollar brand using its platform to publicly demean a woman,” the source told the outlet, adding that “when billion-dollar brands join in, it’s irresponsible.”
Wendy’s responded, but not with an apology. People received a statement from the popular fast food brand saying: “We always bring a little spice to our socials, but Wendy’s has a ton of respect for Katy Perry and her out-of-this-world-talent.”
I still don’t understand the point of this stunt. We’ve already had women in space, but if the goal was to send Botox and silicone into zero gravity…mission accomplished, I guess?
