It’s been an action-packed weekend in France, as the country saw the reopening of the beautiful Notre Dame cathedral.
First off, I’m so happy to see the cathedral doors open and welcoming the public once more. I remember the day Notre Dame caught fire and how sickening it was to watch such a beautiful piece of history go up in flames. And from the photos I’ve seen, the restoration work does look beautiful.
Now on to the funny stuff…
Trump attended the opening ceremony festivities, and let’s just say the Trump handshake has made a full comeback, and it’s better than ever.
Watch:
I’m pretty sure that handshake lasted somewhere between13 seconds and an eternity, but who is counting. Macron’s face is screaming “This is awkward, please let gooooo” and I love it.
Notably, President Biden was *not* in attendance. Me thinks he may have been worried about being left out of the spotlight, but that’s just a hunch.
Biden was invited to attend as well, but missed the trip because of a “scheduling conflict,” according to the White House. First lady Jill Biden attended the event, but did not take part in any high-level meetings between the various world leaders.
Yeah, because the rest of the world knows Jill Biden shouldn’t be a part of any high-level meetings BECAUSE NO ONE ELECTED HER TO LEAD. Someone might want to let the White House know that, too.
