May 30, 2023I’m about to share with you one of the dumbest fights I’ve ever had on Twitter.
And don’t think for a SECOND that I don’t realize that this guy was just baiting me, even long after he probably realized he was wrong. He had to save face and keep up the ridiculous attack – I get it. And I could’ve just sat back, known I was right and let it go. Obviously. But is that ever the fun thing to do? No. It isn’t. And anytime one of these Twitter weirdos picks a fight with me, and I spend time engaging, the only way I end up feeling like I haven’t completely wasted my time is if I let the fight at least generate some ad revenue. 🙂
So here we are.
From what I can tell from his profile, this guy is a DeSantis fan. We probably agree on most political issues. But what we clearly DON’T agree on is whether or not it’s useful for conservatives to share fake news stories as a way of proving a point to lefties.
Case in point. An account I follow posted this over the weekend.
The video contained horrible footage from when BLM looted a Target back in 2020. The Community Note to specify that was added some time after the original tweet went up. I’d already seen the footage, knew it was from BLM in 2020, and also knew that Ian Miles Cheong knew that. His point in posting this with the caption as he did, was to bait lefties into sharing it and then (hopefully) making them look like fools once they realized their outrage was misdirected.
I don’t like tactics like this. Unfortunately, well-intentioned people DO fall for this stuff, and there’s already so much fake news going around that adding to it, even if the point is to bait lefties, is unproductive and unhelpful.

Before the Community Note was added to the post and was clearly visible, I responded:
And then a bunch of people from the Captain Obvious brigade came after me to attack me for not understanding the sarcasm/point (I did). One of those people was this clown.
The link he attached was to an IBJ article that was published when I left WIBC. In it, it pretty clearly states that WIBC was/is an FM station. But it wasn’t always that way. Waaaay back in the day, WIBC was on AM radio. That changed in 2007, well before Daisy and I were EVER on the station (we started our radio career in 2013).
So at this point, I figured JPG just had really terrible reading comprehension skills.
He was wrong, of course, and the easiest way for him to see that was for him to read his OWN LINKED ARTICLE. So I tried to help him out again.
Like – it was RIGHT THERE IN THE SENTENCE HE QUOTED.
At this point, I kinda knew he was trolling, but so was I. He thought he should pile on harder about the trolling intention of the original post and pretend I didn’t understand the sarcasm.
But we weren’t. Not quite.
Apparently, JPG has finished this argument, because I haven’t heard back from that last comment. 🙂
It’s gotta be kinda weird to be a person who thinks you know more about someone’s employer than the someone employed. But that’s the kind of person JPG is.
And now he’s the kind of person who has a place on our Wall of Shame. Thanks, JPG, for helping the Chicks cause!
