Oh, Stephen A. Smith. He doesn’t remember us, but I remember him. Mock and I almost met him once a few years back at Emmis Communications in downtown Indianapolis when we were doing daytime radio. I’m unsure exactly why he graced all of us little folks with his super-important ESPN presence (and don’t you forget it, minions), but he showed up one day to use our main broadcasting studio. We were basically kicked out of our own place where we did pre-records, because Stephen was using it, and instead of being cordial and saying hello or even, “hey, thanks for letting me use your studio, ladies!” he said absolutely nothing. He’s Stephen A. Smith, after all, so were all expected to tiptoe around him and act as if he was some hot-sh*t, big time dude we had to work around. There are a lot of people like that in media, y’all. And he’s just one of many. TOTAL. DIVA. We were told not to bother him. And definitely don’t talk to him. He was a celebrity, after all.
Insert all the eyerolls here.
Based on that past experience, I’m not at all surprised that he got up on a self-appointed pedestal in 2021, lecturing the dirty, less-than unvaaaaaaccinated with such palpable disdain like SO MANY OTHERS who didn’t have the mental capacity to think critically on their own.
For crying out loud, who watches this? And that poor woman in the middle. Save yourself, lady. Really.
I can take about 30 seconds of his screaming before I want to stab myself in the ears.
This is ESPN now, though. And we all thought Keith Olbermann was horrific.
Weirdly enough, after all of that, Stephen A. Smith was on Maher’s after-hours podcast, and he has the audacity to agree with HIM about taking the jab.
He said, “I don’t disagree with you…..I was reluctant, too….it’s your body” when it comes to the vaccine.
You gotta be kidding me with this.
He continued: “What bothered me is that you are a superstar on a team that is a championship contender and everyone is there because of you…it’s your RIGHT, but I’m thinking about it from a competitive perspective. You’re playing for a championship.”
Huh? If it’s HIS RIGHT, then it’s HIS FREAKING RIGHT. Either you believe it is Irving’s body, or you don’t believe it. It’s nice that Stephen “(doesn’t) disagree” now with Bill Maher – you know, on his show, drinking Hennessy and whatnot. But he went on a viral rant shaming Irving for choosing to think critically. And it turns out that Irving was actually right in thinking that way. Go figure.
This has become a recurring theme these days. Do these vax-shaming folks have amnesia? Maybe it was something in the shot.
GAWD:
Between this and the NY government being told to give everyone their jobs back, while more government-folk are gaslighting us and telling us that they NEVER actually shut schools or businesses down during the pandemic? We’re living in truly remarkable times. Nothing to see here, folks. Listen to your media masters and pay no attention to what Actually Happened to you. All that screaming that you were going to kill-your-neighbor was just a figment of your imagination, you conspiracy theorist weirdos.
People like Stephen A. Smith were sanctimonious and frankly, wrong to chastise people for making their own decisions, and not only do these folks need to be called out – but they need to apologize for being d*cks.
Unreal.

I won’t be holding my breath waiting for that apology (mostly because I don’t look good in blue…).
