Business Insider Hit Piece On Gov. Ron DeSantis Accidentally Helps Gov. Ron DeSantis

You love to see it.

Check out this headline from Business Insider, that ridiculous rag that went after Dave Portnoy some months ago.

I mean, I have been saying for MONTHS that the reason I’m such a DeSantis fan is precisely because he’d bring us all the Trump policies without the Trump baggage. That is a legit SELLING POINT. So the fact that Business Insider has called on their “fascism expert” to basically say the same thing is kind of hilarious. Granted, they’re trying to paint DeSantis as a fascist, which is patently ridiculous, but still. I love the fact that they’re scared of DeSantis for exactly the same reason as I’m a DeSantis fan. He brings all the good Trump policies without the Trump suitcase full of drama.

“But Mock,” I can hear some folks saying, “The media will try to destroy DeSantis just the same way they did Trump.” And of course that’s true. But that means nothing, because DeSantis doesn’t have the baggage. The problem with Trump is that he came with piles and piles and piles of baggage already, that the media pounced on. The worst they could find on DeSantis was a photo of him as a young college prof at a party where girls were draped all over him and one of them was holding a beer.

That’s it. That’s all they’ve got.

Trump, on the other hand, like it or not, had a pretty long history of affairs, and then of course the whole Billy Bush audio came out, and on top of that he consistently provided the media fodder with his mean tweets and whatnot. All of it was ridiculous, of course, and it certainly didn’t stop me from voting for Trump – twice even – but it didn’t help him. In fact, it hurt him when it came to some voting blocs, particularly women. You can get mad at me for saying that, or you can acknowledge that what I’m saying is true, like it or not.

Anyway, DeSantis is Trump without the baggage, without the self-inflicted wounds, and without the mean tweets. And Business Insider knows it. They know that’s what makes DeSantis a FORCE.

The “fascism expert” Business Insider turns to insists that DeSantis is a danger because he’s “equally repressive” as Trump is. What a bunch of nonsense. Neither DeSantis NOR Trump are “repressive.” Repression is the literal calling card of the Left right now, and it’s taken the form of mandates and lockdowns and restrictions and cancel culture and the shutting down of conservative speech.

But by all means, keep saying what I’ve been saying for months, liberal media. Keep saying that DeSantis is Trump minus the baggage. You’re HELPING. 🙂
