Oh, so NOOOOOOOOWWWWWW we can see why it’s so urgent for this administration to get hardworking, already-overburdened and overtaxed American taxpayers to pay for OTHER people’s student debt. Come to find out, (at least) THIRTY of Biden’s aides have $4.7 million in unpaid debt.
Collectively, they owe as much as $4.7 million, the documents show, including one legislative aide who reported owing between $500,000 and $1 million. Generally, only senior or well-paid White House staff have to file financial disclosures, and they don’t have to report debt less than $10,000, meaning the total number of Biden’s aides with loan balances is certainly higher.
There’s one person who owes almost a MILLION DOLLARS WTF????
The White House made 2021 financial disclosures for 133 of its employees available late Friday; some current and former staff haven’t yet filed.
Yep. The $4.7 million number is for those who have actually FILED, y’all. Soak that in.
In all, the 30 staffers who disclosed student debt hold a total of 50 loans with a combined value of between $2 million and $4.7 million. Just over half are people of color, underscoring the equity element to Biden’s decision.
I suppose it would be suuuuper convenient for them if you’d not only pay their salaries and super-awesome-benefits (that us private sector minions don’t get, mind you – have you looked at your shitty 401K lately?). It would be super-beneficial for them if we paid off their STUDENT DEBT, too.
Wasn’t the whole point of these super-smart folks getting an awesome job out of college – a government one filled with perks galore, even – so that they could have the means to pay OFF their ridiculous degrees? Why should some welder in Idaho have to do that? Why do I, after paying for my own degrees, and scrimping, saving, sacrificing and otherwise working my ASS OFF to pay for two kids (and a third one that’ll most likely go to college in 7 years) have to pay for their stupid degrees?
Why is anyone responsible for someone else’s debt? Do I get paid back for my two degrees retroactively? Eventually will we move on to other debt like mortgages? Will these folks eventually have to pay my car payment (I’d like to get a new Tesla instead of the 2015 truck that I drive…that whole sacrifice thing these people don’t seem to understand)?
Where does this end, exactly?
But yeah. This explains quite a bit. Must be good to be in the federal government, especially under Biden’s administration. Clueless to how much you’re tanking the economy and literally driving the country off a cliff. Might as well take take, and take some more.
The Founders are SPINNING in their graves.
