If you’re traveling this week, God bless you. I truly mean that, because it’s going to be crazy. AAA is predicting record-breaking traffic this week.
AAA has predicted that 54.3 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from their homes this Thanksgiving, the highest number recorded in more than a dozen years and nearly a five percent higher than last year.
DAAAAAAANG. I’m extremely glad to say that I am NOT one of those people. But a lot of people don’t have a choice. For a lot of people, Thanksgiving is the only time the ENTIRE family gets together. You gotta do what you gotta do.
If you ARE traveling, perhaps you’ll find this little chart helpful. The American Automobile Association and INRIX put together a “traffic guide” of sorts, which predicts the absolute WORST times to travel through some of our busiest cities.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday are the best days to travel this week. Sunday is expected to be a crapshow.
As for flying? The airports expected to have the worst delays include those in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. Not surprising.
Safe travels everyone!
